Supriya Gupta v/s The Upholder Publications: Statesman Journalist Rina Mukherji's decade long fight (Episode 7, 8 on 3 March, 2019 on Colors)

Mumbai, 2002
Namrta Das (real name Rina Mukherjee and played by Gauri Yadav Tonk) who had an interest in writing from her college, completed her diploma in journalism from Mumbai. After the birth of her daughter, she chose to be a full-time house wife.

The time flows and in 2002 when her daughter was near 4-5 years old, she decided to put her career back on track and joins a well-known news paper "The Awakened" (real name of news media is The Statesman). She is working under her supervisor Ashok Purohit (news coordinator at The Statesman, Ishan Joshi in real and played by Vishal Puri) and after some time she starts feeling that Ashok is taking interest in her. He tries to touch her every possible moment. Her colleagues are also looking at these odd activities but no one is able to oppose him because of his position. After too much harassment she files a complaint to an NGO that helps women in these types of cases.

नम्रता दास (वास्तविक नाम रीना मुख़र्जी) को कॉलेज के समय से ही लिखने का शौक था, इसी शौक के चलते वो मुंबई से जर्नलिज्म का डिप्लोमा भी करती है. शादी के बाद एक बेटी को जन्म देने के बाद वो हॉउस वाइफ की जिंदगी बिता रही है. जब उसकी बेटी ४-5 साल की हो जाती है तब वो नौकरी करने की सोचती है. उसका पति उसे सपोर्ट करता है और वो "दी अवेकन"(जानामन अखबार दी स्टेट्समैन) नाम के एक नामचीन अख़बार में नौकरी शुरू करती है. आफिस में उसका बॉस अशोक पुरोहित (वास्तविक नाम इशान जोशी) है जो की हमेशा उसके करीब रहने की कोशिश करता रहता है. नम्रता कुछ समय तक को उसकी इन हरकतों को नज़रंदाज़ करती है मगर धीरे धीरे उसकी हरकते बढती जाती है. अब अशोक आफिस स्टाफ के सामने भी उसे छूने की कोशिश करता है. एक शाम अशोक के घर पार्टी होती है. उस पार्टी में वो आफिस से सभी लोगों को आमंत्रित करता है और मौका मिलने पर वो नम्रता की साथ छेड़खानी करने को कोशिश करता है. नम्रता वो पार्टी छोड़ के चली जाती है.

बाद में वो न्यूज़ पेपर के हेड को अशोक की हरकतों के बारे में बताती है मगर वो भी उसका साथ नहीं देते हैं और कोम्प्रोमाईज़ करने को बोलते हैं. नम्रता को नौकरी से निकल दिया जाता है ये कह कर की उसकी पर्फोर्मंस अच्छी नहीं है. अब नम्रता एक एन जी ओ में अशोक के खिलाफ केस दर्ज करती है.
