The entire village lives under the terror of four armed robbers. Breaking into homes at night and committing robberies at gunpoint has become their routine, and despite repeated efforts, the local police have been unable to trace them.
During one such robbery, Constable Mohindar Singh (real name Ramandeep Singh) manages to grab one of the robbers and briefly sees his face before the criminal escapes. Later, when his senior officer asks whether he can identify the suspect, Mohindar denies it, claiming that due to the darkness, he could not see the man’s face clearly.
A few days later, the same gang attacks Mohindar’s house. During the robbery, Mohindar’s uncle intervenes and is shot by the attackers. One bullet strikes his shoulder, while another lodges near his heart. He is rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment. Police believe that Mohindar was the actual target, but his uncle became the victim after stepping in. Furious over the attack, Mohindar vows to take revenge.
Although Mohindar’s uncle survives, his condition remains critical. During his hospitalization, the robbers make another attempt on his life but fail.
As the investigation progresses, forensic evidence reveals that .36 bore bullets were used in the attack. Police begin building their case around this crucial clue.

एक डकैती के दौरान पुलिस कांस्टेबल मोहिन्दर सिंह चार लुटेरों में से एक को पकड़ लेता है और उसका चेहरा भी देख लेता है, लेकिन वह लुटेरा उसकी पकड़ से छूट जाता है। बाद में जब उसका वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उससे पूछता है कि क्या वह उस व्यक्ति को पहचान सकता है, तो मोहिन्दर यह कहकर मना कर देता है कि अंधेरे में वह चेहरा ठीक से नहीं देख पाया।
कुछ दिनों बाद वही लुटेरे मोहिन्दर के घर पर हमला कर देते हैं। डकैती के दौरान जब उसके तायाजी बीच में आ जाते हैं, तो हमलावर उन पर गोली चला देते हैं। एक गोली उनके कंधे में लगती है और दूसरी उनके दिल के पास जा धंसती है। उन्हें तुरंत अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया जाता है। पुलिस को शक है कि असली निशाना मोहिन्दर था, लेकिन तायाजी के बीच में आने से वे शिकार बन गए। इस घटना के बाद मोहिन्दर बदला लेने की कसम खाता है।
मोहिन्दर के तायाजी की जान बच जाती है, लेकिन उनकी हालत अभी भी गंभीर बनी रहती है। अस्पताल में भर्ती रहने के दौरान हमलावर एक बार फिर उन्हें मारने की कोशिश करते हैं, लेकिन सफल नहीं हो पाते।
पुलिस जांच के दौरान पता लगाती है कि हमले में 0.36 बोर की गोलियों का इस्तेमाल किया गया था। इसी महत्वपूर्ण सुराग के आधार पर आगे की जांच शुरू की जाती है।
