16 year old Shanti is younger among two daughters of her poor mother-father. Her father in unemployed and does not have anything to earn. Her mother is the whole-sole earner in the family but her father steals that earning for his desires.

A day Shanti's mother and sister notices that from few days her father didn't booze. They are amazed to notice this great change how a man can change like this. A morning he comes back meeting someone and asks Shanti to come with him, he has got some labour work and Shanti will also earn with him. Shanti's mother forbade to bring Shanti because she is a minor and want to continue her studies. She asks him to bring Shanti's elder sister with him but he does not agree and convinces Shanti that if she will come with him, she will be able to help her mother in earnings.

He sales shanti to another man. When Shanti's mother asks him about Shanti, he says that she ran away with someone and will not comeback. Shanti's mother goes to Dhaka Police to raise a complain but police also denies her saying Shanti must have run away with someone and will comeback on her own.

On the other hand, that man prepares some forged documents of Shanti, bring her to India via Indo-Bangladesh Border and sales her to another person in west bengal.

Raghunath Balram (real name Dhananjay Singh, a BSP leader) is MP (Member of parliament) from his constituency. He became MP after MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly). His wife Abhilasha (real name Jagriti Singh) is a sort tempered woman who keeps her servant and maid in a kind of castle, also he beats him badly.

Episode starts from the death of their maid Shanti (real name Rakhi Bhadra) who passed away inside their home. Raghunath files a police complain that she died of falling from the roof, but postmortem report reveals that she died of being beaten brutally.

Police starts inquiry from Poorab, a servant from their home. Abashed Poorab tells them that he is hungery and did not took anything from last 3 days. Police provides him food and then he starts explaining them a long story of Abhilasha's brutality that she used to beat them with a iron rod. Shanti was also beaten badly before the day she died.

Police arrests Raghunath because the helped Abhilasha in hiding the truth. The news spreads upto news channel and news papers. The news also read by a lady named Ankita Ahuja, who is wife of businessman Sooraj Ahuja from Gurgaon (Mayur Vihar Phase-I, Delhi in real). Ankita was a victim of Raghunath's harassment during 2004 and 2008. Ankita encourages herself and tell the truth to her husband. Later they both files case on Raghunath.

Madhuri Chitale, a senior citizen aged 60, resides with her two daughters, Meenal (Geetanjali Mishra) and Varsha (Neha Talwar), as well as her nephew Raju. Shanti, a neighbor and close friend, frequently seeks financial assistance and essential items due to her poor economic condition. On a particular day, Shanti requests 50 Rupees from Madhuri, but her request is declined. This refusal angers Shanti, prompting her to return home in a state of displeasure.

Despite Meenal's insistence that Madhuri should give Shanti the small amount, Madhuri remains firm in her refusal. Meenal decides to take the money to Shanti's house but discovers that Shanti has angrily shut her door.
