Delshoda (real name Shakhnoza Shukurova, a belly dancer from
Uzbekistan, a belly dancer from Russia), was hired by a bar manager in
Mumbai. Her arrival caused a stir among the customers, with many of them
showering her with attention and money. This sparked jealousy in Nazia,
an Indian dancer, who accused Delshoda of stealing her customers. The bar
owner, however, told Nazia to adjust with Delshoda since she had become the
sole earner of the bar.
One morning, a caretaker found Delshoda dead in the makeup room. None of the
CCTV cameras were working, and the police were clueless. During the initial
investigation, they found that some customers and staff had tried to convince
Delshoda to be physically intimate with them.
The murder of Delshoda remains unsolved, but the suspicion of jealousy and
rivalry among the dancers, coupled with the unsavory propositions made to
Delshoda, suggest that professional jealousy may have led to her untimely
death.
The investigation into Delshoda's murder continues, and the police are
appealing to anyone with information to come forward. This tragic incident
highlights the dangers that women in the entertainment industry face and the
need for better protection and security measures.
