A body is discovered near a lake under mysterious circumstances. The victim’s face is badly damaged, making identification difficult, and investigators find very few clues at the scene. The case becomes a major challenge for the police as there are no immediate leads or matching missing person reports.

During the postmortem and forensic investigation, police learn that the victim had been attacked before death. Investigators also explore several possible angles behind the incident, including personal rivalry and superstition-related motives, but initially no strong evidence is found. Two passport-size photographs discovered in the victim’s wallet become one of the few important clues in the investigation.

Police circulate the photographs among informers and publish them in newspapers and public places in an attempt to identify the victim.

इसी साल 10 जनवरी को पुलिस को धार, मध्यप्रदेश के धरमपुरी इलाके में एक युवक की लाश मिली थी जिसका चेहरा बुरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त था, जिससे उसकी पहचान करना मुश्किल हो रहा था। मरने वाले के पर्स में एक लड़का और एक लड़की की फोटो मिली थी। हाथ की एक उंगली में अंगूठी और गले में रुद्राक्ष की माला भी थी। यह शव धरमपुरी की गणपति घाट के पास मिला था।

शव मिलने के बाद पुलिस ने उसकी तस्वीर और पर्स में मिली तस्वीरों को पूरे इलाके में दिखाया, लेकिन काफी समय तक उसकी पहचान नहीं हो पाई। पोस्टमॉर्टेम और फोरेंसिक जांच पूरी होने के बाद पुलिस ने शव को अज्ञात श्रेणी में दफना दिया था।
